GBA Cybersecurity Leadership From Asia

The GBA is pleased to announce that Dr. Srini Balasubramanian has taken the baton from Ajay Chandhok as the new Cybersecurity Working Group Leader. We want to thank Ajay for his leadership and commitment to the GBA community and the cybersecurity domain. Ajay has been an invaluable member of the leadership team from the early days of GBA. We wish him the best in his endeavors and hopefully, he will be able to continue his participation as we move into this next chapter for the group.

Dr. Balasubramanian lives in Singapore and has twenty years of experience in information security governance, research, and management. He is an experienced IT infrastructure and cybersecurity research leader with a proven track record in governance, engineering, management, research, sustainability, and trade-investment.

Dr. Balasubramanian’s experience includes serving as the Head of Cybersecurity / Senior Security Consultant for Asia-Pacific at Rapid7. He was responsible for delivering cybersecurity and related solutions for HP and Infosys. He has earned a Masters Degree in Computer Science and numerous credentials including CISM, CGEIT, ISO 27001, ISO22301, and Design Thinking from Stanford University. He is affiliated with ISACA, ACFE, IEEE, Privacy forums, and many other related organizations. He has also presented over 30 research papers to multiple forums and events across the globe. He is also currently working on a PhD in cybernetics and focuses on cybersecurity cognitive intelligence platform, deep learning techniques, AI, and behavior analytics.

Under his leadership, the GBA Cybersecurity Working Group will collaborate with industry, academia, research labs, business ventures, public-private partners, and solutions providers with disruptive business- technology solutions, fuelling their digital transformation and business growth.
