ODU Interdisciplinary Blockchain Mixer

December 6 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm UTC-5

Free
As some of you may know, this Halloween marks the 10th anniversary of the release of Bitcoin. The introduction of this electronic currency and the distributed ledger technology on which it is built, known as blockchain, has spurred massive interest across industries, including finance, computer science, logistics, and healthcare. Universities such as Princeton, Stanford, MIT, Cornell, Duke, and VCU are offering blockchain courses, and there is currently a massive brain drain underway in the finance and tech sectors as talent flocks to blockchain startups.

In order to get a better sense of the interest in blockchain among ODU faculty and students, we would like to invite you to a blockchain networking event at the Graduate & Professional Learning Commons, Room 2109, in Monarch Hall from 6pm-8pm on the evening of December 9th. Light refreshments will be provided.
As strong believers in the disruptive impact of blockchain technology, we think an event such as this is long overdue. This will be a great opportunity to meet and discuss cryptoassets and blockchain tech with other Monarchs, whether you are new to the space or interested in helping others explore and develop this next generation technology.
Feel free to distribute this invitation to any colleagues or students that may be interested.
Thank you,
Michael Brandon Wade
